Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston has shown a link between women who take ibuprofen or acetaminophen more than two days a week and an increased risk of hearing loss . Aspirin appeared to be free of these side-effects.

I have Usher Syndrome, a genetic disorder characterized by a combination of severe hearing loss and retinitis pigmentosa (RP), which causes blindness. Usher Syndrome is the leading cause of deaf-blindness in the U.S. RP typically manifests itself initially by poor night vision evident in childhood, then increasingly narrower peripheral field, and finally worsening central vision.

“We’ll try to be on our best behavior, but we’d like to apologize in advance just in case we lose our cool, get scared or our ears hurt,” said the note from the San Francisco parents, who were flying to Washington, DC, Saturday to introduce the twins to their paternal grandparents."

 

A couple flying cross-country with their infant twin boys took a proactive approach to avoid any in-flight nuisances — and handed out earplugs and candy to their fellow passengers, just in case their 14-week-old babies decided to cry mid-flight.

"The Good Ear’s" iPhone app claims to treat hearing loss | hearing loss | Scoop.it

It uses “Threshold Sound Conditioning” (TSC) therapy to target the sound frequencies where your hearing is the weakest, which the company claims can improve your hearing after 30-minute daily treatments over 14 days.
