5 Exercises People Hate, but Why You Should Do Them Anyway: Burpees, Planks, Push Ups

5 Exercises People Hate, but Why You Should Do Them Anyway: Burpees, Planks, Push Ups | Hanoi Bootcamp | Scoop.it
We really hate to do burpees, planks, push ups and other exercises that really push our limits, but personal trainer Pamela Hernandez tells us why we should love the results these activities deliver.

There are three benefits to hiring a personal trainer. The first is accountability. Having someone waiting on you helps insure you get to the gym. The second is structure. We have enough to think about, letting someone else put together the workout is a huge time saver. The third is having someone who pushes you out of your comfort zone and makes you do the exercises you hate.

Even the most devoted exerciser has at least one exercise they love to hate. We hate it when we’re doing it, but we love the way we feel or look afterwards. I did an informal poll of my clients and came up with the five exercises they love to hate (and why we should all do them anyway).

You really DO need to get sweaty to make a difference to your health

You really DO need to get sweaty to make a difference to your health | Hanoi Bootcamp | Scoop.it
Researchers at Flinders University, in Adelaide, and the University of South Australia, found a high-intensity workout results in the same amount of fat loss as two hours of moderate-intensity exercise, such as walking. Many people view their walk to work as their daily dose of exercise - but new research suggests it isn't enough to improve health. A one hour high-intensity workout provides the same fitness benefits as 50 hours of walking, according to a new study. The research also revealed that an hour of high-intensity exercise – defined as that which pushes the heart rate up to 75 per cent of its maximum capacity or more – results in the same amount of fat loss as two hours of moderate-intensity exercise.
