Shoe design

Shoe design | Hand Drawn Design | Scoop.it

Michelle Hallberg is someone who can turn your shoes into beautiful artcrafts. She uses the color blue in her design a lot, and she has a lot earthy element in her design. If you check her other art profiles you can see she was influenced by Indian art a lot. Anyway, I've always been dreaming to do something with my shoes. Maybe one day I will try this.

A Drawing Diary

A Drawing Diary | Hand Drawn Design | Scoop.it

This blog belongs to Keren Taggar, an illustrator living in Israel. This is where she will post everyday of things she draws down. Sometimes is places she traveled to, sometimes is her random thoughts, and sometimes is just things she was wearing. She has kept this blog for almost two years now. It may seem hard to do, but from my own experience I think if you really want to do something like this, it's actually easy. Because you will never run out of resource to draw, you just need your eyes to find them.

Drawing Tips

Drawing Tips | Hand Drawn Design | Scoop.it

When you are drawing, are you sometimes stuck with a few things? Like how to show the car is moving, or how to make your face look angry, or even just how to draw shawdows under a tree? They are very simples things, but if  you don't know how to draw them your drawings may not be that expressive. Mickey's website has lots of tips like these. There are 140 of them but you can go through all of them very quickly because his tips are just fun to read.

Hand drawn sci-fi flowchart

Hand drawn sci-fi flowchart | Hand Drawn Design | Scoop.it

Artist Ward Shelley has produced another fine, fine, fine hand-drawn flowchart that will blow your mind: This time, it's dedicated to the 2,500 years of intellectual history that have produced the modern sci-fi genre. It is really fun to really take a look at the flow chart and find out sci-fi can trace back to such an old time. It is an interesting designed flow chart as well. Does this remind you of something? Roots of a plant?

Hand drawn map association

Hand drawn map association | Hand Drawn Design | Scoop.it

It is a site devoted entirely to posting hand-drawn maps. There’s something simple and elegant about a hand-drawing, and this is especially true with maps. They show a deep, personal connection with whatever a person’s mapping out, whether it be the street she grew up on or a favorite a hiking trail. In a world where everything’s standardized, it makes us all warm and fuzzy.

As a young child, I enjoyed drawing maps and birds-eye blueprints for buildings and towns. There's something empowering about looking down at a picture from above like that. This site brings me back ... thanks for reminding me!

How to Draw Hair

How to Draw Hair | Hand Drawn Design | Scoop.it

I don't know if anyone has this problem when they start to draw human hair, but I do! When I first started to draw things like hair, trees, or grass I always like to use pencil fill everything. Then I would get a very unnatural looking hair, tree or grass. This tutorial tells you how to avoid this and how to use pencil strocks to create a natural fluffy looking hair. This tutorial is so clear, it would be very helpful if I saw this years ago. Just remember, filling all the space is not necessary, leaving some white space may help to draw the sheen of the hair.

Five Years Time

A short hand-drawn stop motion animation to the song Five Years Time by Noah And The Whale. A five year time story in six notebooks. This reminds me of my first hand drawn animation when I was young. It was just a little girl walking on a sidewalk with a red bloon. When you flip the page it only lasted for seconds, but I remember I spent the entire afternoon drawing on my sketchbook, and hwo rewarding I felt after I saw the little girl started walking on the paper.

Niels Oeltjen's wood design

Niels Oeltjen's wood design | Hand Drawn Design | Scoop.it

Niels Oeltjen is an Australian design with a focus on web design and typography, but he also has a history in street art and graffiti. His drawings are very original. Kangaroos, birds, and earthy colors are his style. They are quite differnt from other street arts that are usually bright, but his works are still appalling. They remind people of beauty of the nature.

A Hand-Drawn Music Video

A Hand-Drawn Music Video | Hand Drawn Design | Scoop.it

The new video for Irish duo We Cut Corners starts as innocently as the children’s ditty it sounds like: a black and white portrait of the lead singer whose face is obscured and revealed by rising and falling waves. This video was made by Katarzyna Kijek and Przemyslaw Adamski, two Polish designers who have been working together since 2005. They used 91 markers total and it took them 2 months to draw, frame by frame.
