Vongole alla brace (Grilled Clams)

Vongole alla brace (Grilled Clams) | guia de dietas para perder peso | Scoop.it

I don't know about you, but even for an inveterate cooking enthusiast like myself, the dog days of summer take their toll. I like to keep time spent over a hot stove to a minimum, so I turn to lots of quick and easy dishes that need little or no application of heat. Last night, for example, we had an insalata caprese, cured olives, pineapple and, to start things off, some grilled clams.

Tell USDA to Reject GMO “Agent Orange” Soy - The Chemical Arms Race in our Food System

Tell USDA to Reject GMO “Agent Orange” Soy - The Chemical Arms Race in our Food System | guia de dietas para perder peso | Scoop.it

- CENTER FOR FOOD SAFETY

Dow Chemical is currently requesting yet another unprecedented USDA approval: a genetically engineered (GE) version of soy that is resistant to 2,4-D, a major component of the highly toxic Agent Orange. Agent Orange was the chemical defoliant used by the U.S. in Vietnam, and it caused lasting ecological damage as well as many serious medical conditions in both Vietnam veterans and the Vietnamese. USDA approval of Dow’s GE soybeans will trigger a huge increase in 2,4-D use – and our exposure to this toxic herbicide. This will come on top of a large spike in 2,4-D use from Dow’s 2,4-D resistant GE corn. Sign the petition to USDA telling them to reject Dow's genetically engineered, 2,4-D resistant soy! http://salsa3.salsalabs.com/o/1881/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=8232
