This article briefly goes over Spartan history; how the city was formed by the Dorian Greeks and how they conquered the surrounding areas of Messenia and Laconia. It also goes over the Persian war and the three hundred Spartans that famously fought in the battle of Thermopiles. This site also touches on the culture of Sparta and how the city was "war-centric" and so on.

This passage covered most of what you covered during the class where we were going over the Spartan culture and basic way of life. It mainly looks at the Spartan males way of life and what they have to go through. They are put in military training when they are seven and literally don't stop until they die in battle or are over 60. This info may help in my study of the city-states of ancient Greece
