Teachers Guide to Teaching Using Social Media

Teachers Guide to Teaching Using Social Media | Gov and Law Lindsay | Scoop.it
The growing popularity and the pervasive use of social networking websites among our teens and students is a fact we can no longer ignore. Unfortunately, many school boards still promulgate laws that inhibit access to these platforms in schools and thus missing on huge learning opportunities for students. Instead of forcing an unwarranted ban on these media tools why not embrace them and turn them into learning hubs where our students can thrive academically.

I think its a good idea to use websites we use everyday for school use. However I don't think schools should have access to students personal social media accounts. They also shouldn't be punished for something they say on a social media site outside of school.

Mistakes During Pregnancy Most Pregnant Woman Makes

Mistakes During Pregnancy Most Pregnant Woman Makes | Gov and Law Lindsay | Scoop.it
Pregnancy is one of the beautiful moments that every married woman awaits. God has only given women the chance to feel the baby growing inside her and make a bond using the baby much before anyone else can. The 9 months of pregnancy bring extreme happiness and joy for that would-be mother, but at the same time it is also the toughest time. Truth be told, the decisions you are making during pregnancy are the first ones you will make being a parent.

This is right up my alley! The fact that our government, and the governments of the world, have enabled and supported science and exploration like this is astounding. By discovering and documenting the universe outside of our world we are only improving our collective understanding of the universe and increasing our sense of society and togetherness .

Marijuana Legalization - Is It Good For Our KIds? - Essay

Is This The Loving And Responsible Thing To Do For Our Kids? - We are being bombarded lately with much misinformation about marijuana, as legalization makes its way across the country. It's big business, and those with a vested interest in it would like us to believe this is good for our communities, but is it good for our kids? Many states have legalized marijuana for medicinal use and Colorado and Washington recently passed laws allowing recreational use.

Via Lon Woodbury
Lindsay LaMont's insight:

My reaction to this article is I haven't really thought about the legalization of marijuana that much. I think they should legalize it for medical purposes only. If they do legalize it for medical purposes only the patient should have regular check ups with a medical doctor to make sure the it is being used properly .

This has to do with government and law because right know legalizing marijuauna is a big thing.

“ Conventional wisdom -- and even some unconventional wisdom -- dictates that Hillary Clinton is running for president in 2016.”

I thought this article was interesting. I do agree though if Hillary doesn't run for president the election could turn into chaos. I think Hillary would make a good president because she ideas.

Remaking Federalism to Remake the American Economy

Remaking Federalism to Remake the American Economy | Gov and Law Lindsay | Scoop.it
Federalism is not a gift that Washington bestows on state houses and city halls. Rather, it is a special, often dormant, vehicle for galvanizing and unleashing the talents and energies of an entrepreneurial nation. The president has an historic opportunity to usher in a new era of pragmatic, collaborative federalism that capitalizes on the economic power of metros and the policy creativity of state and local leaders. Remaking federalism is the path toward an economy that is productive, sustainable and inclusive. More broadly, it can be a vehicle for economic prosperity, fiscal solvency and political comity—if the next president is willing to take it.
