Majestic fort was built in 12th century by Chahuhan Dynasty ruler Prithviraj Chahuhan when he took it over from Tomar Clan Rajput. Lal Kot is also formed in castle which was constructed in 8th century by Anang Pal of Tomara Clan. Famous monument is situated on Press Enclave Road, Saket.

Adham Khan Tomb

Tomb belongs to Akbar’s foster brother Adham Khan who killed emperor’s favorite general Agtah Khan due to jealousy. Akbar threw him form terrace of Agra Fort and that too not even once but twice! Adham was son of Akbar’s foster mother Maham Anga. She also died few days after her son’s death due to heartache. Both mother and son are buried in same tomb at Mehrauli.

Tughlakabad Fort

Ruined fort was built by Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq, founder of Tughlaq dynasty and emperor of Delhi Sultanate. Fort is situated on Qutub-Badarpur Road connecting Garnd Trunk Road (constructed by Sher Shah Suri). Road is also known by another name as Mehrauli-Badarpur Road. Safdarjung’s Tomb

Tomb is dedicated to Safdarjung who was viceroy of Awadh. Last garden enclosed his mausoleum after Humayun’s Tomb was built in 1753-54. Moti Mahal (Pearl Palace), Jangali Mahal (Palace in Woods) and Badshah Pasand (King’s Favorite) are small pavilions of tomb. Structure is located at intersecting point of Aurbindo Marg and Safdarjung Road.

Lodhi Tomb

Earlier known as Old Lady Willington Park is now popular by name of Lodhi Garden which embraces Sayyid and Lodhi ear mosque tomb and bridges. Muhhamad Shah and Sikander Lodhi are finest example for octagonal form of tombs. Architecture is located on main Lodhi Road beside Indian Habitat Center.
