Stocks Perform Better if Women Are on Company Boards | Global Women | Scoop.it

Companies with women on their boards performed better in challenging markets than those with all-male boards in a study suggesting that mixing genders may temper risky investment moves and increase return on equity.

 

Shares of companies with a market capitalization of more than $10 billion and with women board members outperformed comparable businesses with all-male boards by 26 percent worldwide over a period of six years, according to a report by the Credit Suisse Research Institute, created in 2008 to analyze trends expected to affect global markets.

Un reportaje emitido por Fores, un programa de RSE en Argentina, pone de manifiesto las ventajas y aportes de la puesta en marcha de programas con enfoque de género en las organizaciones y empresas. Significaría lograr ese punto de equilibrio que identificamos como Equidad en las relaciones personales y laborales. Una de las especialistas entrevistadas, Lidia Heller, Socia de la Red WIM cita 5 claves que llevarían a la equidad de género.Ver video RSE
Todos los públicos deben ser sumergidos en el mismo lenguaje y discurso porque el cambio social y cultural es muy fuerte. Ella los resume así:
1. Incorporar políticas y programas desde los distintos ámbitos sociales.
2. Modificar el esquema Mamá cocina y Papá trabaja. Las nuevas generaciones han asumido cada día estos roles de manera distinta.
3. Apoyo del Estado con políticas públicas activas y disposición de Centros que ofrezcan un verdadero cuidado para la primera infancia, tema básico para hombres y mujeres puedan involucrarse en el área laboral.
4. Las empresas, toda organización y todos los actores desde diversas áreas profesionales deben involucrarse.
5. Incorporar los programas de RSE con enfoque de género desde los distintos de niveles de la cultura organizacional.

Women make up just 6 per cent of managing directors in the City of London, new research has shown on the eve of a landmark vote to enforce gender equality in the workplace across Europe.

The study of 1,200 employees by recruitment firm Astbury Marsden, which found commodity trading and corporate stockbroking the most male-dominated sectors of the financial services, comes before a European Commission (EC) vote on making it compulsory for companies to reserve 40 per cent of their seats for women...
