EU new 315 € investment plan to boost european economy with large expectation for investment in renewable energy companies. 21 billions € will target more risky project (European Fund for Strategic Investments, EFSI ) in which clean tech and renewable energy companies could benefit from it. EU is expecting 15€ investment from private investor for every 1€ invested by the european Fund.

Decline of VC in cleantech firms (specially over the last two years 2012/13) allow strategic investors to take part of the cleantech revolution, where the investment is  viewed more like a partnership over the long run than a risky short term investment.

Finally the author is showing the come back of VC investors in the cleantech startups. This year 89 deals were made worth a total of more than 1.2 Billion $.

Renewable energy companies are looking for fundraising through the example of India. As the country is moving fast and the indian government is willing to spread clean technologies into its economy, it is encouraging its companies toward clean energy. Demand for clean technologies is increasing and as the sector is more and more efficient, large fundings are required. IPO might be one of the way.

Gone are the fluffy days of Putin shaking hands with George Bush agreeing to keep the world supplied with oil, gone are the days of China helping US firms make profits using their cheap labour, gone are open-for-business days of Europe, gone is the Japanese military neutrality, gone are the Saudis as an unshakeable ally, gone is Israel also a steadfast ally, etc. What is happening is something deeply concerning. Globalisation is turning in on itself and it is each man for himself.
