Apparently Gaye's family believed that their was indeed some type of infringement that occurred during the making of the song "Blurred Lines". Can you really sue someone for taking an idea or having inspiration from another artist? This article is informative, and a good read for others to indulge in.

This video talks about clearing music samples and the reality of the percentages that are taken during the process. When sampling, people rarely think about the consequences, hence a track blows up, and they end up with little to nothing because of the sample that was used. I feel that this was very informative.

Jane Mcgrath really gets into the sampling idea hi you can take just the drum kit from a song make something new or take parts of the verse you may like sampling is one of my favorite things to do exspecially when you hear a beat you like and you want to use it in a new production but it is  a legal side to it as well you can't sell the beat unless you get proper consent.
