Take this one with a grain of salt. The study was conducted by CDW-G, one of the leading providers of edTech related products. Additionally, there is little mention about HOW the tablets, smartphones, and laptops would be used. Having lots of tech hardware and using it effectively are two different things. Once the newness of these devices wear off, students won't be excited about technology that is use ineffectively.

Another sign of the growing popularity of online courses. My concern in these situation is that the decision to move to online delivery is based more on economics than effective instruction. Many of the larger online curriculum companies (i.e. K12/Advanced Academics) are not know for positive results.
