What I learned at school today: Daily 5 Listen to reading using IPads

What I learned at school today: Daily 5 Listen to reading using IPads | French Immersion | Scoop.it

There are many apps that allow your students to read and interact with books on the ipad. For intermediate students there are endless options for free or nearly free resources. In french immersion primary however the resources are more limited. There are many picture books available for the ipad, unfortunately many of them cost money and only include 1 book per app. There are some other options for getting books of the ipad however. In my class I am using two apps: Itubelist and Rover.

[Histoire de l'art] L’oeuvre d’art de la semaine

[Histoire de l'art] L’oeuvre d’art de la semaine | French Immersion | Scoop.it

I am so excited to share this find with you. This is a collection of posters in French that have been created for a variety of artists and famous art works. They include the painting, a picture of the artist and some information about the artist and the painting. The poster also includes a spot for students to comment on the work.

Some of the language here is difficult for Grade 1 but it can easily be adapted. I am looking forward to using these with my students.

French Vocabulary Activity (song): fille and garçon - Mlle Cody

French Vocabulary Activity (song): fille and garçon - Mlle Cody | French Immersion | Scoop.it
I use this activity to teach the words “fille” and “garçon”.

Print on card stock. Cut out the girl and the boy. Laminate and then hot glue to a wooden dowel.

As you sing the song, hold up the girl or the boy as a cue for students.

A cute activity for early in the year. The song could also be used as a brain break when students need to move a little.
