Freedom of the Press Worldwide 2013 - Direct Link to Map High Resolution | Freedom of Information | Scoop.it
Mobile Media Future's insight:

White indicates a Good Situation - sadly there is not much white.  Interesting - there's a country in Africa that is white - NAMBIA, as well as Germany, and Normaway, Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Canada and a few others, but the US is one step lower on the same level with that of South Africa, Niger, Spain, France, Poland, UK, and others.  I didn't realize that India had a red indication - noting a most difficult situation.

Knight Foundation News Challenge - How might we improve the way citizens and governments interact? - Submission - OpenFOIA: An open source Freedom of Information (FOI) management tool for state and... | Freedom of Information | Scoop.it
Knight Foundation News Challenge is a global community that will draw on your optimism, inspiration, ideas and opinions to solve problems together for the collective social good.
Mobile Media Future's insight:

Interesting Submission.  There was talk about a tool (or website) aggregation effort from the US government at the FOIA day at the Newseum - 1st Amendment Center in DC a week or so ago.

As well, someone in the audience said they had developed software and noticed this submission.

With so much data being developed....the system needs to be automated, there's no way that hand processing of freedom of information requests in the future will provide for timely release.

Even better, found out the company working on this is in DC area, close to me!   Will have to explore this effort.
