"This paves the way to the creation of a synthetic organism - inserting a human-made genome into a bacterial cell."

This is at the very cutting edge of genomic and microbiological research. The implications of "life by design" are unfathomable, from novel applications to the philosophical outcomes.  One to keep an eye on.....

Dumb move by a radical judge who thinks he knows what is best for our children. He needs to let parents make these decisions and let doctors decide who should have them. These pills can cause life long harm, and lead to cancer. Birth control pills are not a solution to a problem...the problem is teaching teens self-respect and to wait until they are married to have sex. They will grow up to regret their choices if they are encouraged to have sex and given an easy out, which could harm them in the long term. I hope this gets appealed and overturned and this judge and other activist judges are removed.

I heard even the liberal HHS opposed allowing the morning after pill be made available to all ages. More reason this should be overturned. What does the FDA say?
