This is an awesome website for Elementary grade students! I plan to use it for students who finish an assignment early, so that valuable learning time is not wasted while they are waiting for other students to finish up an activity. These games are interactive and exciting. They can be used to review material talked about in class and provide practice of skills!

Not all children learn in the same way. Some children have difficulty leaving the concrete operational stage and have an innate need to work math problems from left to right, just as with reading.

This video demostrates how to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place. It is always exciting to hear a new voice in the classroom! Students will be excited and thrilled to hear someone new and watch a lesson on the internet instead of hearing their teacher's voice, like they do everyday. Having students watch videos online will be a great tool if there ever has to be a substitute come in for the day.

These are some fun children's books that teach Place Value in Base Ten. They can be used as an Introduction to Place Value. I think reading books in a math activity is a great way to tie reading and math standards together, you pretty much kill two birds with one stone! Students can read the book as a class and practice their comprehension skills, as well as get acquainted with Place Value!
