Mobile Event Apps & How Can Your Company Use Them

Mobile Event Apps & How Can Your Company Use Them | Digital Strategy & Event Marketing and Sustainability | Scoop.it

Described so vividly by industry leaders Quickmobile, mobile event apps are “the printed guide on steroids”. No one wants to carry around the cumbersome welcome pack with the map that never folds back the way it’s supposed to.

Instead of engaging with all the activities and networking potential at your event, people may well just ditch all the printed materials out of frustration and miss out on key seminars.

Global Destination Sustainability Index | REPORTS

Global Destination Sustainability Index | REPORTS | Digital Strategy & Event Marketing and Sustainability | Scoop.it

"The Global Sustainability Index has released its 2nd annual ranking of 40 meeting and events cities. The GDS index rates cities on convention bureau strategy and initiatives, social sustainability performance, industry supplier support (including hotels and restaurants), and environmental strategy and infrastructure. The GDS-Index is unique in that it focuses on the ability of the destination and its supplier base to support corporate, association and government planners to organise sustainable events. The GDS-Index helps destinations to engage clients around sustainability, align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and drive the adoption, promotion and recognition of sustainable practices in their city.

Maria Cristina Terenzio's insight:

5 Fresh Ideas to Run a Successful Event Contest | Digital Strategy & Event Marketing and Sustainability | Scoop.it

5 Fresh Ideas to Run a Successful Event Contest February 9, 2016 Trends & Event Ideas By Holly Barker It’s sometimes hard to be creative and unique when attempting to promote and execute an event contest. Here are 5 ideas to try at your next event. Contests can be exciting, encouraging and creative ways to get event attendees to interact together. However, if not properly planned out, contests can end pretty quickly, and worst of all – make your event look like a dud. A great idea for all event planners is to brainstorm with your team every month to come up with new and fresh contest ideas. Everyone gets tired of the same old contests – entering in for a chance to win an iPhone, iPad, and now Apple watch – these contests come across as mediocre and not well thought out. Below are a few fresh ideas for not only contest ideas, but the thought process that goes into each one...

Why Event ROI Starts with Strategic Intent - etouches blog

Why Event ROI Starts with Strategic Intent - etouches blog | Digital Strategy & Event Marketing and Sustainability | Scoop.it

The meetings and events industry has enjoyed numerous advances over the past two decades. Yet a sobering reality persists; for many, the ability to consistently demonstrate, even express, event value – aka event ROI – has remained elusive. In that same timeframe, digital channels went mainstream and fundamentally altered expectations around marketing transparency. At the intersection lies a simple truth: resources and budgets migrate to areas that perform. Thankfully, live meetings and events do perform, and can achieve comparable levels of transparency. Skilled staff, best practices and integrated technology are essential. Yet to really nail event ROI, there’s a broad need for something more fundamental, and it’s an activity event executives are uniquely positioned to lead.

Maria Cristina Terenzio's insight:

Run More Efficient Meetings: 15 Tools for Shared Agendas, Minutes, and Scheduling

Run More Efficient Meetings: 15 Tools for Shared Agendas, Minutes, and Scheduling | Digital Strategy & Event Marketing and Sustainability | Scoop.it

Meetings are a great way to get your team on the same page, discuss ideas, and plan for the future. They can also be a tremendous waste of time, taking up 31 hours of your work time per month on average. That's why we tend to daydream, do other work, or even fall asleep during meetings. They're a necessary evil—and we're not even sure they're necessary in the first place. Instead, meetings should be an effective use of everyone's time, that one chance you have to push the agenda forward and make sure everyone has what they need to do their best work. That requires meetings that fit everyone's schedules, are well planned, and include actionable minutes so the meeting isn't forgotten as soon as it's finished. These tools will help turn your meetings into productive sessions, ones that take up less time and get more accomplished...

The Real Scoop on Content Curation [vid]

The Real Scoop on Content Curation [vid] | Digital Strategy & Event Marketing and Sustainability | Scoop.it

Content curation is one of the easiest most fun I’ve had when creating a marketing strategies. It helps when you see positive results. Oo I bet you’re saying I’ve gone over the edge by suggesting using content curation in a marketing strategy. Well color me blind. Been wanting to use that in a post, and when I found the rainbow umbrella image it was destined. What Content Curation is NOT Let’s start by saying content curation is NOT content aggregation. Each methodology, discipline, practice, whatever you want to call it, has it’s place and role in the world of strategizing for maximum results in a content marketing campaign. But what most people tend to forget or add time for during their busy day is taking the time to listen, watch, and observe everything around you. We’re all in such a hurry. Look I know you’re guilty, so don’t even go there, I’m sure a lot of you RT stuff because it’s from a “famous” person, or because you liked it (without reading it), maybe someone asked you to, I can think of a hundred and one reasons why I share, RT, G+ in a day. The only thing that saves most of us from pissing off a few hours a day is we have to stick to a strategy, a plan, and the ultimate goal...
