The fact that the players think fighting still has a place in the sport tells us that the game would be even more dangerous if the practice was banished. In fact, there would be a lot more of dirty stickwork during the game if the players couldn't be able to fight.

Since last year, the fans have started to think that the game would be safer if the NHL banish fighting during the games. But, according to the player, the banishement of the fights would only make the game more chippier.

In this article, Bobby Orr's opinion is quite interesting. Indeed, for him fighting in youth hockey should definitely be banished. On the other hand, NHL players and major junior hockey league should consider fighting as being part of the game. I agree with him that fighting is part of the rough sport that hockey is. Also, as he said, players from major junior hockey league need to prepare for the next level and therefore need  to be ready for what is to come, and fighting is a part of it.

The articles show that eliminating fights in hockey won't happen soon. Even if a recent survey suggested that more than two-thirds of Canadian hockey fans support banning fighting, most of the NHL players are not on the same page. Most of them consider the debate as being worthless.
