To capture the attention of a certain era you need to research celebrities, movies stars, athletics, and heroes that the people of that generation idolized. Something to always keep in mind when promoting your product to people is to contact their memories and feelings making them feel like that product is being "directs towards them."

understanding all of the generations gives the products that you are marketing a leg up. It makes them more custom to the changes in each era.

If a product can be promoted to multiple age groups then your marketing team should take full advantage of that. In doing this, it gives your product more opportunity to become popular and sell.

In marketing you need to create a unique and clever brand image, this will draw in the people and make them interested in your product. Products in todays world come in and out of popularity. One day your product will be a top seller and the next you will be hurting for customers. This is when you need to reorganize your marketing strategy and improve it.

In marketing you need to come up with a plan that will benefit you over time and not just in the moment. When creating this marketing plan one needs to remember the "rule of sevens." This rule says that it takes seven consistent impressions over 12 months for consumers to recognize your message. Frequency over time is the equation that multiplies marketing results. Commitment to investing in both is what separates the winners from the losers.

When thinking about a year long marketing plan one needs to make sure they cover the basics in it. Some of these things are marketing segment of interest, market size and population, identify competitors and their strengths and weaknesses, figure out what sets your product away from everyone else (price, support, and services), estimate costs and budgets.

Key to great advertising and marketing is telling the truth. No matter where you are putting your advertisment, whether it is in newspapers, billboards, commercials, or anywhere else the truth always needs to be told. By doing this people will believe in your products and continue to like go for your product.
Stephanie Jones's comment, February 18, 2014 12:48 PM
marketing and advertising are very close related. In order to market a product one needs advertising. The marketing team can come up with all the details and facts about a product and who, when, and what to sell it to. But then the advertisement team would take over by taking this product and being creative in order for people to buy that product. These two aspects need to work very close together because these jobs go hand and hand with each other.

When developing a marketing outline you need to include many things. One of those things is a mission statement. This section of the outline will include, how your product is being made, the development of that product, and the objects for this product that you have. The next thing that you need to include is information about the customers. You need to say is how many people are going to buy your product, what are they going to buy, and what is their price points with the kind of economy we are in. After that you will need to figure out the competitors, this includes, "strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats."
