Plinko and the Binomial Distribution

Remember the last section of the website for Pascal's triangle? The Quincunx? Well this interactive webpage follows that same idea. You are able to see the probability of a ball falling into a certain bin. The formation of the pins that the balls have to go through looks very familiar though. They are in fact in the arrangement of Pascal's triangle and the probability that any ball will hit a specific pin is inversely related to the values in that triangle.

Challenge: Pick any pin in the triangle. Count the number of times a ball hits that pin. After a while (you can pick how long it should go for) stop the applet and calculate the probability of a ball hitting that pin using the formula (number of balls that hit the pin)/(total number of balls that fell). Does it match up with what Pascal's triangle tells you it should be?
