In Silicon Valley, Meditation Is No Fad. It Could Make Your Career

In Silicon Valley, Meditation Is No Fad. It Could Make Your Career | Everyday Leadership | Scoop.it
Meditation and mindfulness are the new rage in Silicon Valley. And it's not just about inner peace—it's about getting ahead.
Joe Boutte's insight:

We must find our balance every day.  Being still and letting our brains relax for a few moments are more helpful than trying to send another "important" email, sending a text, making a call, having a meeting, or creating a social media post.  Whether we meditate, pray, take a walk, sit on a bench, or whatever relaxes us for a few minutes or longer, it is how we keep our balance and elasticity of thought.  Balance includes maintaining integrity of mind, soul, and body. Our energy and creativity is enhanced when we give it time to develop and strengthen.

WOMEN WHO MEAN BUSINESS | Everyday Leadership | Scoop.it

Dugle signed on in early 2016 as CEO at Engility, a $2 billion company with nearly 10,000 employees worldwide, but at a time when the financials seemed on a slippery slope. Since then, Dugle’s shifted the Chantilly-based company’s positioning from a low-price, technically acceptable (LPTA) provider to offering best-value products to government customers.

During her tenure, Engility landed four contracts valued at more than $200 million each, versus just one contract over $200 million in 2015. Her winnings included a contract with the Federal Aviation Administration to support the modernization of the country’s air-traffic control system — the largest contract in Engility’s history.
