"Personal trainers have a professional obligation to keep sensitive client information private." Although, federal privacy laws such as HIPPA, does not apply to most personal trainers, they still have an obligation keep client's information a confidential. There are boundaries between the trainer and the client. Violation of such things may cause damages.

A part of the ethics of personal trainers are the confidentiality aspects. All clients should be 100% convinced by the trainer that the confidentiality of the client will be met.

Being in the athletic training field, gives many opportunities for someone to commit unethical acts. Depending on where you work, some schools or athletic programs will allow for some unethical things to happen. It is up to you to decide whether you can live with those decisions if you chose to look the other way.
