Following up on the article discussing the actions of former lineman DJ Fluker, the NCAA does not continue to pursue Alabama on rules/regulations violations.  After sanctions with Penn State and an investigation with Miami, the NCAA does not have enough evidence to go after Alabama, the program is just too big to fail.  Relating to the topics of organizational justice (procedural), HRM, and power/leadership (democratic, coercive).

Miami won't have to sit out any more post-seasons according to a source.

The University of Miami has been under an ongoing investigation by the NCAA since 2010. The Hurricanes have been forced to sit out the past two post seasons due to violations committed by players at the university, accepting benefits.  NCAA reported, Miami will not receive another 'bowl ban' however the university will suffer a loss of 3 scholarships for the program over the course of 3 years, for a total of 9. Related to the topics of coercive power and conflict management, social responsibility, democratic leadership, as well as procedural justice.

After a 62-41 loss to Arizona State that gave USC a 4-7 record in its last 11 games, athletic director Pat Haden fired coach Lane Kiffin.

Lane Kiffin, former head coach of the Oakland Raider and Tennessee Volunteers finds himself out of yet another job. After a loss to ASU some changes needed to be made and AD, Pat Haden, believed this was the best move for USC. USC is looking for a permanent replacement for the years to follow and has expressed interest in Jack Del Rio, an organizational veteran of the NFL, seems to be the best fit. Related to the topic of organizational culture in the area of newcomers and lack of fit theory.

Previous Right Tackle for the Alabama Crimson Tide, DJ Fluker, has stirred up talks of investigation for the NCAA.  The Bama player, aside from scholarships, was allegedly receiving improper benefits from the school to play football. Relating to the topic of human resource management, this impending investigation is an organizations worst nightmare and possible "Death Penalty."

So it looks like Texas A&M will be serving up some 30-Minute Rice for their opponents on Saturday in College Station, TX.

Due to actions performed by Heisman winner, Johnny Manziel, the NCAA issued a suspension for violations commited during the off season.  Texas A&M superstar was reportedly signing autographs in excahnge for money upwards of $7500. Related HRM, procedural justice, social responsiblity, he is expected while in the national spotlight to to obey rules on and off the field.

Penn State said Monday it is paying $59.7 million to 26 young men over claims of child sexual abuse at the hands of former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

The Penn State "Jerry Sandusky Scandal" brought in a lot of negative publicity to the university. 26 sexual abuse victims came forth regarding the actions of the former assistant coach and the university said it will compensate each one with a total allocated amount of nearly $60 million.  Relating to the topic of social responsibility and conflict management.

This is a follow-up article regarding the coaching concerns of former USC head coach, Lane Kiffin, and what lies in store for his coaching career.  Experts believe fans could be seeing him on a Texas sideline next year or quite possibly at the University of Connecticut.  Either way, Kiffin is an organizational veteran and will be a good fit for whichever job he lands next. Virginia Tech and the University of Tennessee have agreed to play one another on a whole new stage come the 2016 football season.  In agreement with Bristol Motor Speedway, the two schools have officially created "The Battle at Bristol". The new even has caused scheduling issues for both schools. Realted topic, transformational leadership as far as capitalizing on this opportunity, managing change and future challenges in sport organizations, schools must compensate now to make up for the change in schudule for the upcoming seasons.

Scarlet Knights hope to improve to 2-1 on the season. Eric LeGrand number retired, first ever in school history.

During halftime against Eastern Michigan the team symbolically retired number 52 and LeGrand became the first player in Rutgers history to have his number retired.  On the topic of leadership, Eric LeGrand displays many attributes that define a leader.  Though faced with many obstacles, LeGrand overcame most expectations set by doctors. Faced with a career ending injury did not stop him as he continued to attend all games and practices for Rutgers.

Is it time to pay college athletes? In the new issue of Time Magazine, the paying of student athletes becomes the topic of discussion.  Receiving input from former college athletes, the argument seems to push toward people wanting the rules of the NCAA to change. It is up to HR Planning to evalutate the skills and how it pertain to the administration reaching their goals in the future.
