Working For The Supply Chain

So you want to work for the supply chain? There are 80,000 positions needed to be filled for each of the next 10 years. The program is offered at Mohawk, Centennial, Conestoga, Algonquin, Fleming, Concordia, Laurier an Ottawa. The salary ranges from $40,000 (first year)- $60,000 (5th year with certification). It's a three year program with little to no homework. The way the supply chain works is: laying hens- hatchery (21 days)- farm (40 days)- slaughterhouse- processing 1- processing 2- warehouse- distributor- retail- consumer. The product must be shipped and recieved in perfect condition. One million offices around the world operate supply chains. Some careers include: planning, procuring, distribution, transportaion planner, purchaser, lift operators, shipping/recieving and many more. Every company in North America relies on the supply chain, therefore making it a very important job.

What You Need to Become a Nurse

Becoming a nurse is an emotionally driven job, which takes a lot of passion to do. Nursing is a 24 hour job. You can work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. All shifts for nurses are 12 hour shifts. There are five types of nurses; PSW which is a Personal Support Worker they handle elderly and handicap people’s personal daily care. You need a college certificate and no registration fees are required. Along with no license or insurance needed. Can take this program at college or St. Louis. Can administer drugs under RNs. RPN which is a Registered Practical Nurse. You need your college diploma and work side by side with RNs. RN you need an 83% to be considered for the university program, fees of $180 to be registered in Ontario and it’s a four year university program. RN (EC) you need your post-graduate diploma, BSc and two years of work to apply to. You also need an 86% to get in. Lastly, PhD you need your post graduate, and takes about 5-7 years to complete. If you enjoy caring for people then nursing is the job for you.

Valerie Machado- Her Life Behind It All

Valerie Machado is a normal human being that went through a lot in her life, and now has worked seven and a half years for the city of Kitchener. Valerie went to grade thirteen, then to Humber for Travel and Tourism which is a two year program. She worked in customer service for a small airline company, married a chiropractor and moved to a small town. She took a secretarial job, and became executive assistant to the regional manager in government. She also took a job in economic development. She settled down and had a family, but later got divorced. She got a job at the bank and became a CFP (Certified Financial Planner). She built relationships there in order to succeed, and relied on social skills, confidence, selling her skills and networking. Valerie goes to show that you can do anything, and shouldn’t stop until you find the right job for you.
