The presenter that came in was someone that went through a lot of jobs. She talked about various different things and how she didn’t find they were for her. She talked about how she went to collage for one thing but in the end she never really used the education she had received while going to college. She is now a development officer for the city of waterloo (No description available). She talked about how manufacturing in Kitchener and waterloo area is the second biggest employment area next to Windsor so looking for a career in those field is a wise choice than can lead to a well-paying job. She talked about how her husband made her move and quit her job and do what he wanted. She ended up divorcing him and he advice was to not let people stop you from being happy.

To become a nurse you have to be ready for full commitment of your time to this job. You first have to go through university and get a PHD-post grad which takes about 5 to 7 years. There are different types of nurses some of them are personal support worker, registered support worker. Being a nurse can be stress full because all shifts are 12 hours long usually 7 am to 7pm or vice versa. You also work holidays and weekends the shifts are all over the place you can work 5 shifts than you off for 6 than work 3 than you’re off for 1, so your scheduled is never the same.

Being a nurse for a career will not leave your bank account low to say the least. The average full time nurse can get paid up to $60 per hour, not to mention over time for holidays ect, premiums and bonuses.

Becoming a financial planner is a hard thing to do. First you need your high school diploma, and need to go to school for some sort of financial planning course. These programs usually take place in a collage. You also need to become as certified financial planner (c.f.p) also you need to take a Canadian security course, financial plan 1, 2 and a FD capstone. These are all offered at Conestoga collage.

This career is 100% commission, so what you put in is what you will get out. If you work 12 hour days than you are going to make a lot more than someone who works 6 hour days. The average salary made in 2010 was $113,000; you have to take this in to consideration though these numbers were taken from people at the top and the bottom so some would make $10,000 and some $500,000.

It takes a long time to become a police officer; you have to undergo many tests all the way from physical tests to written tests and psychology tests. To first qualify to be a police officer you need to go through mandatory schooling. This schooling usually is up to 13 weeks long, which is just over 3 months. During these 3 months of school two of these tests you undergo is a pepper spray test and/or a Taser gun test and also a very achievable beep test that only requires you to run up to level 6.5.

The average police officer that is not even hired can still make a decent amount of money; the average un-hired officer can make up to $40,000 a year. Being a fully hired officer is a little bit different; an officer that has been in the service for just 4 years can make up to $85,000 each year.
