fifth amendment conclusion

Again another Xtranormal video made by Matt for another history project, but about the 5th amendment.
Emily Avallone's insight:

This Youtube video has to do with the 5th amendment. The jugde is telling the .... to get out of his court for dancing. The Judge said "Since when did my court  become a party room?" and the ..... said "Oh whats the matter jugde, you cant handle this." This video is basily saying no person may be compelled to testify against himself.

The Fifth Amendment: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Emily Avallone's insight:

The Fifth Amendment for yesterday, today and tomorrow website has to do with what ever other website started as they explain what the 5th Amendment is about and gives like 4 or more cases on who used it and how the case went down. Im thinking most people use it because they are being accused of doing something wrong. Many people are like I call the 5th Amendment because I didnt do what you are i saying i did. They even give you all different types of states verisons. Examples: The Pennsylvania version, A copy of its Virgina Model, adn then George Mason.. Author of the Phrase. George Mason, The privilege as first phrased for Virgina's Declaration of Rights, in May 1776.

Did Lois Lerner Botch Fifth Amendment Rights?

Did Lois Lerner Botch Fifth Amendment Rights? | Emily Avallone- The 5th Amendment | Scoop.it
After a key agency IRS official today invoked her Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate herself during congressional testimony, Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa said he will review legal precedent in order to determine...
Emily Avallone's insight:

This article is about the same woman in my other article. Who didn't know her 5th amendment. Lois Lerner is the woman who said she doesn't want to speak but then spoke. She was explaining herself, but in reality she made herself look like a fool. This last article about her is questioning if they made up their mind on whether or not to make a statement because of what she did.

IRS Scandal Inspires Bill Against Fifth Amendment

IRS Scandal Inspires Bill Against Fifth Amendment | Emily Avallone- The 5th Amendment | Scoop.it
Bill would penalize government employees who refused to answer Congress's questions.
Emily Avallone's insight:

This case is different, this woman didn't know her 5th amendment. There trying to explain that pleading the 5th mean you choice the right to not give your statement. This women choice to plead the 5th but then went on explaining herself which means she choice to not speak and then spoke. You can't do that so now they are deciding whether to make give a statement or not because of what she said. You must know your facts before you speak.

Emily Avallone's insight:
On April 18, 1996, A man named Al "A.C" Cowlings invoked his 5th Amednment. He had "right against self-incrimination for the second consecutive day" Al was accused for murdering two people. One was a boy and one was a girl, the names were Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle Goldman. On "Wednesday during a deposition in the wrongful death lawsuit that accuses O.J. Simpson was responsibility" for the death of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle Goldman. Looks like he could never play football (he though he retired)  or be a actor ever again for killing 2 people.

The Rutherford Institute

Emily Avallone's insight:

Another Website that just explains what the 5th Amendment is and how it is used now a days. It says "in the 1791 the 5th Amendment continues to be very important today. This website is good so just incase your accused of something you didnt do, you can look up this website and it helps you on what you need to know. Rutherford Institute doesnt just talk about the 5th Amendment. It takes about the 1st, for examples the Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion etc. They even give you cases to read from that use the 5th Amendment and how they use it in their cases.
