If you're new here, it's best to browse the video quizzes in our library and see what an interactive video quiz is (it's simple: questions popping up during the video).

If you like them, you can make your own quiz from any Youtube or Vimeo video here on iSLCollective (Click here or on the Upload menu). It takes 5 minutes to learn to use the quiz maker, and about 0.5-1 hour to finish a quiz.

Such amazing tool to take advantage of technology :) Tools like this ones are excellent to enhance the development of  la guage skills while taking advantage of technology. As it not only enables students to use their devices to learn, it also promotes speaking skill. It is a shame that it is only available for iOS.

Dennis T OConnor's curator insight, December 24, 2016 2:50 PM

Those who search for research will may have already found these search engines.  Don't rely on a single search engine. Triangulate your queries, look for multiple credible sources.

Oskar Almazan's curator insight, February 8, 2017 8:42 AM
Niche-specific content is usually not readily available through regular generic search engines. One example is the academic and scholarly content. While running a search query about an academic topic through a generic search engine such as Google would probably render fairly decent results, it, however, usually takes digging into so much fluff before finally landing on relevant results. This is where having access to topic-specific search engines comes in handy. Such search engines do not only provide specific content tailored to the topic under study but their content is more likely to be reliable and authoritative. To this end, we have compiled this list of excellent academic search engines that teachers, student researchers and academics can use to quickly locate and access scholarly works and publications. We have only included what we believe are the most relevant and popular titles out there.

Transformative pedagogies, encourage students to be an equal and active participant in their learning. They are not limited to being passive listeners or mere receivers of information, with instructions on how to process the same. Students are expected to consciously understand their learning, the thought processes intertwined with it, while questioning, exploring, and discovering new realms of learning.

In the field of psycholinguistics, metacognition plays an important role. Metacognition is mainly about the knowledge and awareness we have about our own learning process. It is the understanding on how we can understand. The article proposes 10 ways to improve this ability. I mention 2: Debates, class discussions, and brain storming. 2. Encourage students to recognize their moments of doubts. These are important since teachers can develop them as a group, explore new ideas.

Since now a days more people seek to learn or practice a new language on the web, this web application plays an excellent role. One of the major factors that affects learning a new language on an application, is to have feedback on the pronunciation and this is precisely the function of "Pronounce Live". Thus, people can get an important benefit since they can improve their pronunciation without having somebody in front to correct them.
