Wondering how to put Common Core into practice? It’s easier than you think. | School Library Journal

Wondering how to put Common Core into practice? It’s easier than you think. | School Library Journal | Elementary Library Media Center | Scoop.it

For the library media specialist, it's a matter of clustering. The Library Media Center is a super highway of information and the LMS could be considered the navigator and pilot all rolled into one.

See how implementing a clustering approach to arranging resources supports Common Core and its aim for teaching students more about the craft and structure of multiple texts.

I love this concept and I think it is the biggest piece of the puzzle that seems to be missing when we adhere to the factory model style of instructional delivery. Do students feel like they matter if they are treated as a cog in a wheel or a student id? All the ed tech in the world will not replace the human-to-human relationship between a student and the teacher who believes in that student's potential and helps him/her to feel like they matter.
