Bullying has never been an easy topic to tackle, but Westville schools are trying a new harsher approach in order to put an end to it. At one of the board meetings a point was brought up that bullying isn't taken very seriously especially if it's a students first offense. They are making an attempt to make punishments harsher in return less students will bully.

This article was very interesting and relatable since I once attended a school in the Plymouth-Canton area. It had a great discussion on how and why schools need to have more bully prevention things, and parents need to become more involved in their child's lives.

Another bullying prevention program, but this one has a different approach that may be more influentional then most. This school introduced Kool 2 B Kind (K2BK) in attempt to show that bullying isn't cool. They realized that many kids just "follow the leader" and if the cool kids think bullying is lame then they are hoping others will follow their trend.

The day of silence which started with college students is now moving its way to elementary schools, but many fear to approach the idea because of the possible effects that may happen such as losing their job. Although kids at such young ages don't necessarily these concepts I feel that it would be beneificial to introduce them a little bit earlier so that they are not such a shock later on in their life.
