Interactive Ancient Greece for Kids, is a fun and engaging website to peak students interest about Ancient Civilization! The website is filled with quizzes, puzzles, games, projects, and so much more.  There is something to appeal to a wide range of students.  The quizzes are a great way for students to test their knowledge and skills.  The educational games and activities are a great resource for differentiation and extensions for students when working within the unit of Ancient Civilization in history class! 

Common Core Standard: 
SS-7-2.1.1: Students will explain how elements of culture (language, arts, customs, beliefs, literature) defined specific groups in the early civilizations prior to 1500 AD and resulted in unique perspectives.

WatchKnowLearn--Free educational videos provide students from K-12 grade with educational videos! There are so many different video clips available to students. Educational videos can be much more appealing to the audio/visual learners than textbooks and articles found online.  By providing students with the link through Scoop-It, students can easily navigate to the videos without having to search YouTube, which sometimes is blocked using the school's server or students could accidently access something inappropriate.  watchknowlearn.org is a great resource for educational videos for students and by linking this to Scoop-It students are able to easily access the videos.

SS-07-2.3.2: Students will explain how compromise and cooperation were possible choices to resolve conflict among individuals and groups in early civilizations prior to 1500 AD.

Discover Ancient Egypt is an interactive website that can be used to hook students on learning about Ancient Egypt.  By allowing students to play some games that relate to Ancient Egypt before beginning their research.  Content that students learn throughout the games can help students to make connections throughout their research.  This website can also be used as an extension for students that have completed their research projects and are needing an activity while waiting for their classmates to move forward.
