Father and Son – The Benefits of Whole House Surge Protectors - Father and Son

fathersonelectric's insight:

If you ask any electrician in South Carolina what one of the most important things a homeowner can do to protect their home and family, the answer you get will likely be the installation of a whole house surge protector. Trusting your home, electronics and possibly even your life to those little plus in strips is foolhardy at best. They are unlikely to provide you any real protection especially in the event of something major like a suddenly downed power line or a lightning strike. Either of those two events could leave your entire house vulnerable and could cause a power surge that completely destroys your wiring, equipment and could even lead to a fire. For those reasons, electrical companies and contractors recommend a better, more comprehensive plan of action.
