From Tony Vincent. Learning in Hand TCC 4-1

Podcasting was my first exposure to Tony Vincent (@learninginhand, @tonyvincent or on FB) and his website. He still has the most amazing lesson plan for a podcast about your town.

But as you can see there is a Twitter feed and FaceBook addition. A blog page has instructions on ideas you can use in class. QR code cubes for selecting a reflection topic, ipad uses, instagrams 10 feet long, jigsaw puzzle makers, and on and on…

5 Excellent iPad Apps Students Can Use for Taking Audio Notes ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Technology Education | Scoop.it

"There are times when taking a note in a written format is not a practical option. You might for instance be attending a lecture or a conference or you might simply prefer to listen to your recorded notes instead of reading them, in these cases apps such as the ones below are what you will use for audio note taking. While keeping the basic note taking features, all of these apps are fantastic for recording notes and adding audio to your notes. I invite you to check out the selection I have below and share with us what you thin about it."

The potential of social networking sites in education is huge and we need to capitalize on it to enhance our professional development and consequently improve the quality of our instruction. Searching for articles on this topic , I came across Doug Johnson's post on the 10 social media competencies for teachers [http://doug-johnson.squarespace.com/blue-skunk-blog/2010/7/31/top-ten-social-media-competencies-for-teachers.html ]. I like the competencies Doug included and decided to make an infographic featuring all of these skills.  Have a look and share with your colleagues.

A disruption to current eWhiteBoards Makers... You could be left out of the game sooner than you think, the survival of the fittest at a pace never seen before. Today you are the king of hill (the Alfa Male), tomorrow you are nothing.

Study how Mikel Jordan kept being the best NBA player as he aged, and follow suit…

a) Change before they make you change.

b) Be the leader not the follower, adapt your core competences not to theirs but to the environents and train at changing them as the Environment Evolves.

c) Know more of the new incumbents and competitors than they even do of themselves.

d) Set the pace, study & read the facts, play offense and defense at the same time, remember the best defense is a well planned offense. e) At the end this game (business) is about who scores most, not about of how many possible home runs you made the others forfeit. So you'll have to be offensive, make safe bets, in order to score.

Aside from the mass devastation i think it would be pretty cool of all the ice melted. As the interactive map shows there would be in inland sea in australia which i can turn into the AUs great lakes. Also imagine the possiblility of being able to take a vacation to antartica and not having to dress for absurdly negative tempatures, all the undiscovered land and preservated fossils. It would be a interestling link to the past that only in the future we could experience.

With that in mind, I wanted to be able to use it as a poster myself but whilst I thought it was great I didn’t however quite agree with some of the App choices. I wanted different categories too that related more to the use I thought would be useful in UK schools, hence I created my own version from scratch in Photoshop which I share below."
