A Knight's Life

A Knight's Life | Education | Scoop.it

I am sir Nicholas. I am a knight, a proud Christian knight. I just fought in the first crusade that Pope Urban II launched. It was a bloody mess that lasted for three years. But, we finally came out on top. We defeated the Muslims and took back Jerusalem as our holy city. It was not easy though. We had to travel far to get our city back. We had to kill many peasants along the way, but we only did because they were killed our men first. We must stay loyal to chivalry! It is a hard job being a knight, but we endure the tough times for our kingdoms and our leaders! The Pope is our main leader, and he was entirely right to launch this crusade against the Muslims. They had our holy city and were ruining its catholic history! He would not stand for that, so he stood up to them. And us knights followed along because it was the right and best decision. Long live Pope Urban II! We could not have had this great success without his right judgement. Now that the city is ours, we must celebrate! I am going to go partake in the celebration now! Hip hip hooray!
