Connected Educator Month Day 7 – Leadership for Connected Professional Learning #ce12 | Change Agency

"Yes, I do believe the role of the organization and leaders who are charged with providing professional learning must change if they have not changed already. I think those leaders should be modeling this for all other educators in the district. Become a connected leader first, then provide support, time, space, and encouragement to faculty & staff and other leaders..."

Drama Circles: Cooperative Learning FUN!

Drama Circles: Cooperative Learning FUN! | Educación personalizada | Scoop.it

Have you ever had your students do a Drama Circle? It's kind of like "I Have Who Has?" but students act out their parts instead of reading them. Jennifer Runde shared her ideas as a guest blogger on Corkboard Connections and also offered a Fairy Tales Drama Circle freebie for you! This is a great back-to-school activity to get kids to break down barriers and learn to relax and have fun with their peers. (Grades 3 - 6)

Getting Schooled by a Third Grader: an event on early education and technology.

Getting Schooled by a Third Grader: an event on early education and technology. | Educación personalizada | Scoop.it

"Whether kids are jumping in front of Microsoft’s Kinect, tapping on an iPad, building worlds on Minecraft, or sending tweets in kindergarten classrooms, the ways they use technology are sparking new teaching methods in elementary education—and providing some cautionary tales. As interactive media become an animating force in children’s lives, how can teachers and schools make the most of its educational value? How can we tell the difference between technologies that belong in the classroom and those that are best suited for afterschool entertainment? And what might young kids’ use of media teach us about the ways they learn?"

Teaching My Friends!: Textmapping

Teaching My Friends!: Textmapping | Educación personalizada | Scoop.it

Before I begin. . . what a long week it was! Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I have been swimming in work and haven't had a moment to post anything. In the past week, I have created and/or significantly revised 48 different literacy center activities, eight activities in six different literacy areas. That means thinking of what I need them to be, then typing them up, putting them in folders, and listing all the extra materials and copies I need to gather in school to complete the centers.
