“El aprendizaje no estructurado ocurre cuando dejamos que los estudiantes jueguen sin una guía para que puedan sacar conclusiones por sí mismos. Sin embargo, todavía este tipo de aprendizaje requiere del apoyo del maestro, particularmente en las primeras etapas del proceso. Esto sucede en forma de diseño de escenarios, desarrollo de plantillas, formulación de preguntas orientadoras, etc. Al final, sin embargo, todos estos métodos están diseñados para apoyar y guiar a los estudiantes mientras caminan felices a través de lo desconocido”. Unstructured learning is an authentic real-world way of learning. That’s because the real world itself doesn’t have neat compartments or set disciplines for success. It demands adaptability, patience, and a willingness to learn and to use what is learned in the moment. Most of all, it requires us to take full responsibility for what we learn.

 

It’s time to play and to let go of rigid teaching in favour of unstructured learning. For this to happen, teachers have to foster trust in their students. They have to be willing to take a step back and put a little slack on the reins of traditional pedagogy. In short, we need to let things get a little messy. Ease into it—it’s a bold step and it will transform everything.

Unstructured learning brings real to your workshops and classroom. Its not YOU the teacher doing all the presenting but its about guiding and facilitating people through real world problems and allowing them to innovate,apply principles ,models  and come to their own conclusions. Just like there are many ways to lead and sell there are many ways to learn ...

"Enthusiasts and evangelists of open educational resources (OER) see these resources as a panacea for all of the problems of education. However, despite its promises, their adoption in educational institutions is slow. There are many barriers to the adoption of OER, and many are from within the community of OER advocates. This commentary calls for a wider discussion to remove these barriers to mainstreaming OER in teaching and learning and argues for a rethinking of the idea of ‘open’ to make it more inclusive by rede ning the concept. It reminds us of the original thinking behind OER – which was to create universally available educational resources that can improve the quality of teaching and learning. This commentary posits arguments against con ating OER and open education, questions the narrow de nitions of OER, and raises issues around how to be more exible and open to mainstreaming OER and removing barriers from within the OER movement."

OERu launches 1st year of study with Learning in a Digital Age - Google Groups

The OERu is excited to announce the launch of our 1st year of study. The inaugural offering of the OERu’s Learning in a Digital Age course starts on 14 March 2018. It calls on us to stop the blame game for education’s problems: we ALL play a part in ensuring we have access to a quality education, from students and teachers, right up to the United Nations. They must make sure not to blame people for education problems if they are outside of their control. The 2017 Digital Literacy Impact Study: An NMC Horizon Project Strategic Brief uncovers the learner’s perspective of how digital literacy training influences work life after graduation. As a complement to the definitions and frameworks outlined in the 2017 strategic brief on digital literacy in higher education, this study examines digital literacy in action as learners enter the workforce. More than 700 recent graduates from 36 institutions responded to an NMC survey that addressed the experiences they gained at colleges and universities, and how their proficiencies or lack thereof have affected their careers.
