Research Summary: Writing in Middle Grades Mathematics

Research Summary: Writing in Middle Grades Mathematics | EdTech | Scoop.it
Current educational reform calls for middle grades students who have the foundational skills to be "high school" ready (Williams, Rosin & Kirst, 2011). The Common Core State Standards Initiative (2010) echoes this call for students who are college and career ready. The Common Core Mathematics Standards describe outcomes for middle grades students where they reason abstractly and quantitatively and construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. Assessing To Mastery

Assessing To Mastery | EdTech | Scoop.it

In a dream, you walk into a hushed testing room, sit down, and have four hours to answer questions unlike any you’ve seen before. For many students, this is their worst nightmare, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Through the routine use of formative assessments, students can make progress towards mastery of all standards. It is in the classroom that teachers can support skill building and nurture growth

If you like the free large-file sending service WeTransfer, you'll probably like also GetaLink, a new web app which looks exactly like WeTransfer, but which allows you to send files up to 4GB in size.

N.B.: The files you send are stored on the server only 3 days (instead of 7 for WeTransfer) and only 1 person can download the file you have sent (20 emails for WeTransfer and unlimited downloads).

A useful service with a familiar interface to send large files to anyone.

Free to use.

I think these are also characteristics of a digitally competent learner. Teachers certainly need these skills before they can teach the next generation.
