EDpuzzle

From @teachric on twitter. This looks rather interesting.

Add a video and crop it. Add in your own notes via audio. (and pause the video at the same time). Finally embed quizzes in the video that students can do and you can track.

Create groups beforehand and add in students (via Excel if you want). This generates codes which you can then give to students to enrol

Lots of potential for the "flipped classroom"

Had a further play. You cannot upload YouTube videos, only ones you have made (although I guess you could download YouTube then re-upload using DVDVideoSoft or similar). Uploading videos takes time (drawback). Multiple choice, open questions and comments

GoFormative

GoFormative | EdTech | Scoop.it

A platform for real-time formative assessments + a FREE next-generation student response system. Use on any platform. Very straightforward to set up and no need for laborious time spent creating classes.

Four level of assessment: multiple choice, T/F, free text and drawing.

Create your own assignments from scratch or using existing PDF files

Create a class and get a code for that class. Students sign up to the website - no need for email address just first/last name and username. They then enter the code to access the site

You can see responses being added real time and grade on the fly.

Teacher marks from the Dashboard. They can choose the points for each question. Marks are added by dragging a scroll bar across or self marking option for MC.

Teachers see students scores and colour band of scores (traffic lighting). Student's get scores back when they revisit assignment (if option selected)

Written feedback to students planned . Most impressive!
