This post doesn't pertain in particular to children directly, but I think some of the points she makes are transferable. I also firmly believe that as parents and adult influences on children, it is our responsibility to have a healthy lifestyle that children can see and hopefully be inspired by.

I had never considered the idea that children with ADHD are often punished or disciplined more because of their inability to control themselves. I can see how some kids I have worked with in the past might have had ADHD/ADD and even I got frustrated with them easily. The key is early detection and then I think the next step is better understanding what the children are experiencing on a daily basis, and how that is going to affect their learning styles and behaviors both inside and outside the classroom.

I appreciate all of the resources that this website provides for teachers with #ELL students. #ELL students wasn't really something on my radar growing up, even though I was in a public school. So it's very interesting and eye opening to see the need of #ELL students and how teachers are able to better support them in the classroom.
