Eckhaus Latta SS17 campaign features real couples having sex shot by Heji Shin (NSFW) | What's new in Visual Communication? | Scoop.it

New York-based fashion label Eckhaus Latta has launched its SS17 campaign that features photographs of real couples having sex while wearing its latest designs. The campaign was shot by Heji Shin who, in 2011, gained recognition for photographing a German sex education book for teenagers. The casting, by Sam Muglia, sees real-life couples from a wide range of ethnicities and sexual orientations modelling for the series. The art direction by Eric Wren Office, design director of _Art Forum_ , sees the most explicit parts of the images pixelated and the models bathed in natural light.

David LaChapelle has directed and photographed the Diesel SS17 campaign, Make Love Not Walls, taking aim at Trump's proposed wall between the US and Mexico and the societal divides it represents. David famously worked with Diesel on its iconic 1995 campaign showing two sailors kissing, which at the time was one of the first big-budget ad campaigns to depict a gay couple in this way.

Although these stunning images might look like the work of Photoshop magic, photographer Robert Bösch (or Robert Boesch) captured these campaign photos for the Swiss mountaineering brand Mammut by carefully coordinating an entire team of mountaineers on the snowy Alps. Racing against time and extreme conditions, the team demonstrated their mountain-climbing skills and the durability of Mammut's products by hiking to incredible heights, hanging from suspension ropes in precise positions, and forming beautiful patterns and shapes spread over the landscape.

Japanese retailer Muji is holding an exhibition of 25 archival advertising posters designed by Ikko Tanaka. The collection of prints will be on display in London’s Covent Garden from 18 – 23 October, and in Milan from 27 October – 7 November, celebrating 25 years of Muji in Europe.

For the Milan International Furniture Fair 2014, Camper, the Majorcan shoe brand, and the ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne presented an exceptional multidisciplinary project at the Arlecchino Cinema. Students of the Master Product Design made a shop, under the supervision of Bethan Laura Wood, which was used as the set for “Training”, a short film directed by Jan Czarlewski, a graduate of the ECAL Bachelor Cinema.

The projection of this fiction film was accompanied by a documentary by Arthur Touchais, who is also a graduate of the Bachelor Cinema. All communication materials for this event (graphic design and photography) have been undertaken by former students of ECAL.
