The Mau5 recently stirred up a shit storm by calling out himself and his fellow superstar performers for doing little more than "pressing play" on stage.  Just a few days before the controversial a...
Gabriel Goh's insight:

I like the best comment on this article from Niels82. Shouldn't the performance be the priority for the artist? Why should light shows hinder the artist from giving a better performance to his fans?

Don't Push My Buttons

Don't Push My Buttons | Do all DJs do is just... play music? | Scoop.it
As the DJ moves from club booths to festival stages, the equipment has become increasingly varied. And as the lines continue to blur between a DJ who mixes and a producer who presses play, questions of authenticity have been raised.
Gabriel Goh's insight:

A-Trak responds to deadmau5 comments about all DJs only hit the play button on stage. The art of DJing has differed so much from the past known as turntablism. Nowadays its more like a pre planned show, DJs playing the same sets at different festivals.
