This article really expresses how the sport world is working to cut down on racism. Some players were accused of saying monkey chants to colored players on the opposing team. there had been a partial closure of the stasium in order to punish the team and areana for these racist comments. This article helps to show issues sport managers may have to deal with but also shows how to handle a situation.

Glasgow 2014 is urged to tackle gay discrimination

Glasgow 2014 is urged to tackle gay discrimination | Discrimination | Scoop.it
SCOTLAND must use the Glasgow 2014 Games to raise human rights abuses within the vast majority of Commonwealth countries that outlaw homosexuality, campaigners have demanded.
Kaila Roberts's insight:

This article talks about the importance of removing discrimination against gay athletes in Glasgow. Attention has turned from the winter olympics to the Glasgow games because the discrimination has been removed from Rusiia and now moved to glasgow. It is not just becoming a discrimination issue it has become a civil rights isuue in this counry. Officialls are meeting to work to "protect and defend equally". This is a recent issue around the world and we see it not only in sport but around the world.

Kaila Roberts's insight:

In this article Tim shriver the ceo of the special olympics sits down and talks about changes that need to be made in order for those with special needs to compete at equitable levels like those who don't have special needs. He talks about the importance of changing wiht the times and making new marketing types and experiences for the athletes and wants to draw more attention to the special olympics. I like this article because it shows how a sport manger wants to change something that is being based from years ago. I like that he wants to create a  new era.
