Anthroposophic Medicine | 'Book Review: School As A Journey' by Bertram von Zabern, M.D. This was the first book I read about Waldorf Education and found it to be a wonderful introduction. It not only gave me nice outline of the curriculum for each age, but gave me a strong feeling of the sentiment behind Waldorf education.

What is education?: Representations of Waldorf Education III: The Recovery of Man in Childhood

Another wonderful book that is helping develop a deep understanding and love for Waldorf philosophy. It is beautifully written. A bit on the flowery side but I find that it helps add the the aura that the author is trying to create.

What I Learned in Public School

I went to public school as well and I have to be honest. The children I have met at the Waldorf school appear to be so much more centered and grounded. I have only been working at Waldorf a short time and I can already see why. The environment is one that is not only nurturing, but encourages individuality and creativity. It is one of the first school setting I have been a part of where I feel like I am part of a true community. Not just the kind of community to boast to your administrators so they bestow funding and keep jobs, but real honest community.
