*E-Learning*

Five to ten years from now, I believe that education environment is more flexible and accessible to learners ofcourse with the help of technology. More resources can be used by the students depending on their needs. Resources like the internet wherein they can have other options of information gathering rather than using just books. The more sources you have, the more you learn about things. I'm excited how the education environment will evolve because I know more information will be visible thus, more things to learn. Life as we know it, it is a journey of continous learning.

*Blog???*

A blog is a personal journal published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order so the most recent post appears first. Blogs are usually the work of a single individual, occasionally of a small group, and often are themed on a single subject. Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Advantages:

1) Good venue to share something about yourself

2) Gather feedback immediately

3) It can linked you to different information

4) Good way to organize all your ideas

ARE BOOKS GOING TO BE OBSOLETE?

I believe books will never be obsolete. Personally, I still prefer reading books than reading Ebooks. There is still an advantage on reading a real book. Though blogs are very useful and something personal, books still offers a much better fulfillment when you were able to finish reading one.

WILL LIBRARIES BECOME OBSOLETE?

I believe that libraries can never be obsolete. It's a hiding place for book lovers. It is also the hiding place of different kinds of books especially those books which are a part of our history.

Books and libraries will never be obsolete as long as there are people who are inlove with these possessions.

Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is defined as intersection of web application features that facilitate participatory information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design and collaboration on the World Wide Web. A Web 2.0 site allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators (prosumers) of user-generated content in a virtual community, in contrast to websites where users (consumers) are limited to the passive viewing of content that was created for them.

Advantages of Web 2.0

1) Collaboration of the different web applications.

2) Information can be pulled from a number of different places, and it can be personalized to meet the needs of a single user.

3) Allows the mass population to communicate with each other and spread ideas rather than receiving their information from a single authority.

Steve Jobs: How to live before you die |

Steve Jobs, CEO and co-founder of Apple and Pixar, urges us to pursue our dreams and see the opportunities in life's setbacks -- including death itself.

This video inspires me to continously search for things that you love to do in life. Life is about connecting the dots. But we can only realize the connections by looking backwards. At the end of the day, what is important is our happiness.

"Find what you love to do. If you haven't find it yet, have faith, keep searching." - Steven Jobs

*Wiki and RSS*

A wiki  is a website whose users can add, modify, or delete its content via a web browser using a simplified markup language or a rich-text editor.[1][2][3] Wikis are typically powered by wiki software and are often created collaboratively by multiple users. Examples include community websites, corporate intranets, knowledge management systems, and notetaking.

Will Wikipedia progress into an acceptable medium for knowledge in schools?

I believe that wikipedia is not an acceptable medium for knowledge in schools since people can easily edit the information in the site. I believe that medium of knowledge in schools should come from reliable sources and based on studies and not purely on opinions of different individuals. Unless Wikipedia ensures the credibility of the information inputed in their site.

What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing is the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices as a utility (like the electricity grid) over a network.

End users access cloud based applications through a web browser or a light weight desktop or mobile app while the business software and data are stored on servers at a remote location. Cloud application providers strive to give the same or better service and performance than if the software programs were installed locally on end-user computers.

Advantages:

1) Costs less than maintaining your own servers

2) More scalable

3) More secure

4) More reliable

Matthieu Ricard on the habits of happiness

Matthieu Ricard on the habits of happiness | Discover Ishmael | Scoop.it

What is happiness, and how can we all get some? Biochemist turned Buddhist monk Matthieu Ricard says we can train our minds in habits of well-being, to generate a true sense of serenity and fulfillment.

He made me realized the true meaning of happiness. A simple definition of happiness but with a great impact on how to look at life.

"Mind training is based on the idea that two opposite mental factors cannot happen at the same time. You could go from love to hate. But you cannot, at the same time — toward the same object, the same person — want to harm and want to do good." - Matthieu Ricard

Amy Purdy: Living beyond limits

Amy Purdy: Living beyond limits | Discover Ishmael | Scoop.it

TED Talks When she was 19, Amy Purdy lost both her legs below the knee. And now ... she's a pro snowboarder. In this powerful talk, she shows us how to draw inspiration from life's obstacles

I was inspired by this video because of her story on how she faced the challenges in her life. How she won against her battle and how she gives back her blessings. She made me realize that life is not about quiting, it's about continously fighting and living beyond your limits.

"Instead of looking at our limitations and challenges as something negative or bad, we can begin looking at them as Blessings." - Amy Purdy
