Heathrow Hub is the best solution be miles.

Maintaining the importance and connections to Heathrow the Hub proposal centres on lengthening the Northern runway:

Less disruption, less cost, less buildings demolished, less early morning flight aircraft noise -  and quicker to implement by far.

A much better solution that an additional third runway.

Regent Street Office Direct, London W1, a site for letting sub-200 m2 office units in the portfolio

Regent Street Office Direct, London W1, a site for letting sub-200 m2 office units in the portfolio | Digital Portfolio by Small Back Room | Scoop.it
John Rushton's insight:

Small Back Room have been looking after the Regent Street Estate for 15 years. During this time we have created the brand, its values and been instrumental in just about everything creative.

This is one of the suite of web sites.  Here we promote the offices available to tenants - mainly anything under 2,000 sq.ft. This landlord/tenant relationship is managed by The Crown Estate's own in house team; Regent Street Office Direct.

This is a wonderfully easy site to interrogate. The viewer can either search by square feet (often difficult to calculate the space required for an organisation) - or just fill in the number of people the space is needed for, and hey presto, the site works out what you need, what is available, and presents it to you the viewer . . . Simples

Traffic Penalty Tribunal, the final arbitration for parking penalty appeals in the UK

Traffic Penalty Tribunal, the final arbitration for parking penalty appeals in the UK | Digital Portfolio by Small Back Room | Scoop.it
Traffic Penalty Tribunal homepage
John Rushton's insight:

Small Back Room designed the brand and communications style for the organisation that handles all the appeals for 'matters parking'.

The Traffic Penalty Tribunal are the Impartial, Independent Adjudicators to whom you would appeal if your parking fine appeal (or bus lane offence, or failure to pay the toll on the Dartford Bridge) had been turned down by the council where the offence had 'alegidly'  occurred.

PATAS does the same 'job' for London Boroughs.

Traffic Penalty Tribunal handles the rest of England - and Wales.

Related to this sector Small Back Room also designed the brand and information material, including a special alphabet, for PATROL. This is an organisation solely concerned with the provision of information on parking regulations outside London. www.patrol-uk.info

Small Back Room creates a new brand for Regent Street London (after creating the original one 13 years ago)

Small Back Room creates a new brand for Regent Street London (after creating the original one 13 years ago) | Digital Portfolio by Small Back Room | Scoop.it

Regent Street in London has revealed a new brand identity, with the aim of “enlivening” the area and reflecting its “transformation”.

The new identity has been launched to coincide with Regent Street Fashion and Design Month, taking place in September.

More than 10,000 people are employed on Regent Street, and it sees 7.5 million tourist visits per year. It also includes a number of Grade II listed buildings.

John Rushton's insight:

The Crown Estate commissioned consultancy Small Back Room to redesign the visual identity. It includes a “simple” white rectangle and circle which can be “filled in” with different colours, says the consultancy’s creative director Gavin Tuck.

“Something needed to work as a canvas,” says Tuck. “It had to have a sense of play within it.”

He adds that the identity fulfils the new brand strategy of Always. Different”, implying that the area is “consistent in quality but always transforming and changing”, says Tuck.

He adds: “The two are in absolute contrast. The area is always Grade II-listed, but it’s constantly changing – in the same way, the pattern of the logo is always, but the fill of the logo is different.”

Tuck says the change adapts the logo for different audiences, while the consistent features make it identifiable. “The logotype and beautifully simple shapes work as descriptors,” he says. “We wanted it to feel bright, vibrant and have a youth appeal to it, but still fulfil a more mature nature.”

The new identity replaces the previous logo, which was in use for 13 years and was also designed by Small Back Room.

The Crown Estate says that the new logo replaces a “much-loved but fairly rigid and out-dated brand marque that is no longer relevant for a modern lifestyle destination”.

The project has taken a year and a half to complete, and includes this reskin of Regent Street’s retail website regentstreetonline.com with a new background. A full website redesign will be rolling out this month.

The Crown Estate has been implementing a £1 billion Regent Street investment programme since 2002, which the estate says is guided by the street’s values of “quality, heritage, style and success”. It has included more than £25 million invested in public realm improvements.

The new branding has been applied to this website, and is rolling out across all marketing collateral, including on taxis and window displays in the area, stationery and social media.
