Are your customers millennials or just highly evolved?

Are your customers millennials or just highly evolved? | Digital Nomads | Scoop.it

In this Marketing mag article, Anjali Lai explores the nuanced picture of consumers beyond traditional demographic categories such as generation. The first step on a company's path to thriving in this environment is understanding customers accurately - specifically, identifying how consumer expectations are changing and how quickly. Forrester has analysed its years of consumer data and found that, globally, consumers are evolving in five important ways:

Willingness to experiment.Self-efficacy.Digital/physical integration.Information savviness.Device usage.

These five key shifts explain changing consumption trends and lead to a sense of customer empowerment: consumers are willing to experiment, reliant on technology, inclined to integrate digital and physical experiences, able to handle large volumes of information and determined to create the best experiences for themselves. Find out more.

How is technology disrupting the way we travel?

How is technology disrupting the way we travel? | Digital Nomads | Scoop.it

Internet and new technologies have completely changed consumer consumption behaviours, and the travel sector has evolved tremendously. With a high penetration rate of mobile devices in Asia and airports increasingly adopting new technologies, travellers today are able to enjoy a more relaxing, seamless and hassle-free travel experience. The way travellers research, book and experience their travels have rapidly evolved; as we speak, there are apps that help travellers navigate around airports to create a more relaxing experience with the information they need, in the palm of their hands. With mobile technology readily available, travellers have access to more options and can easily change travel plans on-the-go, from any device. Mobile apps are able to cover needs such as checking flight status, accessing boarding passes, changing hotel or flight bookings, navigation, booking rides or even offer personalisation based on a traveller’s history. Find out more.

What's the best global city according to millennials?

What's the best global city according to millennials? | Digital Nomads | Scoop.it

The Big Apple has been voted as the best city in the world by millennials. According to the Ipsos-MORI study that asked respondents to name the city that was best to live in, visit and do business in, New York City came out on top (again), despite it also being one of the world's most expensive. Ipsos-MORI interviewed 18,557 adults aged between 16 and 64 from 26 countries. Overall, Sydney made the top ten coming in fifth place and an index score of 36. For Gen X, their ranking of the top cities were almost identical, but Sydney was bumped up to third place. Baby Boomers scored Zurich as their top city and crowned Sydney as second place. Robert Caruso's curator insight, March 29, 2017 9:07 AM
Trust is one of the most foundational components within relationships and there is really no difference when it comes to digital marketing and brand content. If you don’t trust a person or a brand, your relationship with them will take on predictable patterns that impact how you engage or not. Increased trust with a person or brand will often lead you to interact, engage and consume content that the brand produces more frequently. A lack of trust for a brand or person will clearly drive a divide between them and you, causing you to often ignore their content.

American millennial travellers are relaxed, romantic and embrace #YOLO

American millennial travellers are relaxed, romantic and embrace #YOLO | Digital Nomads | Scoop.it

Millennial travellers in the U.S. embrace the ‘you only live once’ (#YOLO) mentality, take risks, and focus on crossing things off their bucket list, while Gen X prefer relaxing trips and visiting family. The findings, from a survey we conducted with Northstar Research Partners, illustrate the distinct shopping habits, influences and motivations of travellers across four generations, including Generation Z, Millennials, Generation X and Baby Boomers. Across all generations, Americans are open-minded travellers who are deciding between two or more destinations and seeking help and inspiration during the travel planning process.

Five ways luxury travel is changing | Digital Nomads | Scoop.it

According to Sabre's The Future of Luxury Travel report, luxury travellers are aligning their experiences with more personal values and to fulfill their own dreams. This means luxury travel can vary between a helicopter ride to somewhere remote to opting for an exclusive yoga class; or choosing to dive to the wreck of the Titanic over glamming it up at a ritzy resort. Released by Sabre Hospitality Solutions, in partnership with TrendWatching, the report details five key areas impacting customers’ future preferences for accommodation and experiences.
