Health as a preventive measure is a highly neglected area, in Sweden as well as internationally. There is a growing problem with poor health related to lack of knowledge and understanding of the importance of physical, mental, emotional and social dimensions. Development is rapid and the technology has in many ways caught up. Yet, in the same time it is very slow, because, after all, the process of finding ways to simplify and improve humanity is driven by people.
Josefin Y-Dahlqvist's insight:

Is the biggest mistake that development has not been taking seriously? Who will take the lead in preventative and supportive care?

Why Mobile Health Technologies Haven't Taken Off (Yet) | Digital health | Scoop.it
Tech entrepreneurs see the mobile health (mHealth) market as the next great business revolution, but it has yet to achieve critical mass. mHealth is the sum of technology-based applications that allow a patient and a physician to clinically interact from different locations. But is the U.S. healthcare infrastructure ready to embrace the growing desire for non-traditional physician-patient encounters? Unfortunately, the adoption curve has been slow, with only about 10% of the U.S. population (36 million) having ever used mHealth technologies, such as telemedicine.

How Big Data Is Changing Medicine | Digital health | Scoop.it
SOURCE October 3, 2014 Here’s how science usually works: Come up with a question or a hypothesis. Develop an experiment to test it and create data. As any middle school student could tell you, it’s called the scientific method. Now, some researchers and entrepreneurs in the Bay Area say that method is being upended, especially when it comes to medicine. Consider what happened in the pediatric intensive care unit at Stanford’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital a few years ago. In 2011, a young g
