katietran233's insight:

in the Information Age, data is the money maker. Huge of amount of money is spent from gathering to selling data. And it's not that comfortable with most people in term of privacy. According to this article, an App called CitizenMe with psychometric technology would analyse personal traits of the Iphone/Android phone owner ( for instance) then let them see how they come across on various social media sites. Further more, the users can see who is tracking their personal traits and agree or not agree to send their personal data to the who needs it. This guarantee privacy would be protected.

The creators of this App hope that this would gain more benefit to the marketers. As for me, i think this is a great app if it could protect my privacy. But the problem is that, how many people would willingly to use this app? Would you download this to your devices ?

Vodafone to create play from tweets. Campaign, first for advertising & creative news
katietran233's insight:

Taking advantage of how the people use social media, Vodafone found a way to engage audience. Its new campaign FirstTeatro Tuit encourages the public to create a play by tweeting using #firstteatrotuit. The play would be played by actors and free tickets are available. This looks like a great idea, but as for me, i'm not sure creating a play on twitter would be interesting to the audience. And imagine how the play would come out, must be a very complicated play ( because lots of suggestion from the audience ).

A Dangerous Question: Does Internet Advertising Work at All?

A Dangerous Question: Does Internet Advertising Work at All? | Digital Advertising | Scoop.it
The Internet was supposed to tell us which ads work and which ads don't. But instead it's flooded consumers' brains with reviews, comments, and other digital data that has diluted the power of advertising altogether.

katietran233's insight:

Those who already watched Devil wears Prada or 13 going to 30 would know what is it like to create a magazine,  or to be the editor in chief of that magazine. McDonald's - soon to be editor in chief- just introduced its new promotion plan : Brand journalism. Basically, Mcdonald's approached communication similar to  the way an editor creating a magazine.

Red Bull has been apply strategy similar to this brand journalism plan. The brand launched a print magazine and a website call Reb Bulletin, featuring extreme sport stories. I have been reading this website since it launched. The site features very nice photographs related to its contents.  Mcdonald's could create something like this to interact with its loyal customers and those who are new to Mcdonald's, but must feature really interesting contents.
