If I do attend a community college, I only plan on attending for 2 years and then transfering to the University of Illinois at Chicago. This site says that most students at community college plan to do this (but attending any university). Because transferring is becoming more popular community colleges are starting to expand their degrees.

This reminds me to be on time with registration. If I do attend a community college, then I need to make sure to register weeks ahead of time. If I don't and the college does allow late registration, it would not help me, only set me up to fail the class.

The writer said she was going attend 2 years of college for $4,000 dollars, but this would not help her in the event planning industry. On the other hand, she says her friend told her she needs to figure out a system to budget and plan events. I believe attending college will help me overcome this when I get stuck in the same hole.

It took Marianna Zanetti a full year after graduation before landing a job at exactly the same salary she was earning three years earlier.

It's interesting that she thinks getting accepted into a college but not attending will have the same effect as attending. I think businesses and job opprtunities want the knowledge people gain in college to help them in their business and create knew useful experiences.
