Design thinking et storytelling | Storytelling

Design thinking et storytelling | Storytelling | design for business | Scoop.it
Design in Practice's insight:

Hacking the Classroom: Beyond Design Thinking

Hacking the Classroom: Beyond Design Thinking | design for business | Scoop.it

"Design Thinking is a great skill for students to acquire as part of their education.  But it is one process like the problem-solving model or the scientific method. As a step-by-step process, it becomes type of box.  Sometimes we need to go beyond that box; step outside of the box. This post provides an overview of design thinking, the problems with design thinking, and suggestions to hacking the world to go beyond design thinking."

Design in Practice's insight:

Design thinking is an approach to learning that includes considering real-world problems, research, analysis, conceiving original ideas, lots of experimentation, and sometimes building things by hand

How Design Thinking Could Help Solve the Skills Gap

How Design Thinking Could Help Solve the Skills Gap | design for business | Scoop.it

"What if I were to tell you that you could learn more about how to solve the skills gap from a dating site than from a quantitative international study? As a systems designer at IDEO, I'm always looking for innovative ways to go about understanding and framing problems. Notwithstanding the conflation of issues found in discussions about a skills gap, if we take it head on as a challenge, 'design thinking' provides a fresh lens and three useful problem solving techniques. What does that mean for the skills gap? No matter how perfectly you design an education system, no matter how perfect the on-boarding and development programs an employer institutes, if you don’t address the human elements on all sides—employee, employer, and educator—you're going to face frustration." | via Good

Design in Practice's insight:

Via Beth Dichter
Design in Practice's insight:

In education, design thinking empowers students to realize that they can create their own futures by borrowing frameworks from other areas, which allows them to design their own participation and experiences.
