The EyeRing takes this a step further by offering aural feedback via a wearable device. And while it's still just a research project, some experts believe wearable electronics will eventually become common—an idea Google recently put in the spotlight by confirming it's working on glasses that can show the wearer maps, messages, and more (see "You Will Want Google Goggles").

Missed this? Yammer Uses Billboards to Show That Billboards Don’t Work…and Fails | The Hangline

Missed this? Yammer Uses Billboards to Show That Billboards Don’t Work…and Fails | The Hangline | Design by TechnoCreative | Scoop.it

How many tweets go ignored? How many Facebook statuses? Voicemails? Emails? Post-it notes? Everything is one-way until an audience responds. A response could be visiting a website mentioned in an interesting tweet, buying an item promoted in an email, calling a phone number from a direct mail piece or even just being more aware of a brand seen on a billboard. Social media hasn’t put a nail in the coffin of old media. It’s simply made it easier and cheaper to throw around thousands of one-way communications in the hopes that one of them sticks.

So Yammer can try to say old media is obsolete all they want. Myriad outdoor campaigns prove otherwise. I suspect most of their email marketing and social media tactics have gone relatively ignored until now. It took old media and a debate-inducing message to get the most attention they’ve probably seen in a long time. So congratulations to them on stirring the pot and getting some attention. This billboard is probably working like gangbusters.

"Don't Mean To Be Alarmist, But The TV Business May Be Starting To Collapse" Business Insider

"Don't Mean To Be Alarmist, But The TV Business May Be Starting To Collapse" Business Insider | Design by TechnoCreative | Scoop.it

The question is... how fast?...We still consume some TV content, but we consume it when and where we want it, and we consume it deliberately: In other words, we don't settle down in front of the TV and watch "what's on." And, again with the exception of live sports, we've gotten so used to watching shows and series without ads that ads now seem extraordinarily intrusive and annoying. Our kids see TV ads so rarely that they're actually curious about and confused by them: "What is that? A commercial?"

Only 3 companies profit from making smartphones. The share? Apple 73% Samsung 26% HTC 1% the rest make loses

Only 3 companies profit from making smartphones. The share? Apple 73% Samsung 26% HTC 1% the rest make loses | Design by TechnoCreative | Scoop.it

The big question is, simply, who made more money? Samsung may have beaten Apple by just over 7 million unit sales, but which company turned a higher profit? In this, Apple is the winner by a sizable margin. According to a recent study by Asymco, Apple raked in a whopping 73% of all profits in the smartphone market. Samsung came in a distant second with 26%. That, you may notice, leaves a mere 1% for every other smartphone maker to share. As it turns out, though, the other smartphone makers don’t actually share that last 1%. It all goes to HTC. Every other smartphone maker – RIM, Nokia, LG, Motorola, etc. – lost money in the past quarter.

4 Tips for Creating a Consistent Transmedia Content Strategy | Business 2 Community

4 Tips for Creating a Consistent Transmedia Content Strategy | Business 2 Community | Design by TechnoCreative | Scoop.it

The rapid growth of multi-platform media consumption and the rise in media audience fragmentation underscore the importance of understanding where and how our customers are consuming content. Most media strategies transverse platforms and channels to include both paid and earned media — including user-generated content. Your customers are seeking your content, distributing and sharing it as well as creating their own content that relates to your brand, so a consistent transmedia strategy may require you to modify or create new content so that it can be found, consumed, and shared across platforms.
