English Peace Poster.jpg - Google Drive | ART&DESIGN - English for Work | Scoop.it
Rossmely León's insight:

I wanted to use a song for my work, so I chose "We are The World" by Michael Jackson, that has to do with making a change, helping people, and peace.

About the graphic style, I was inspired in popular design trends in these days, styles that you can see a lot in internet, like is the use of Typography combinations and beautiful backgrounds.

I also used illustration to complement the text.

I think this style was perfect to represent a song visually and to represent a subject about Peace.

Art vs. Graphic Design: The Debate Rages On - The Deep End Design

Art vs. Graphic Design: The Debate Rages On - The Deep End Design | ART&DESIGN - English for Work | Scoop.it
The debate as to whether design (or graphic design) can truly be classified as art in the literal sense has raged on for years.  It’s a complex and rather convoluted argument to have, as both designers and artists create their own visual interpretations and compositions with the skills and knowledge set they have. Their reasons [...]

Color in Graphic Design

Color in Graphic Design | ART&DESIGN - English for Work | Scoop.it
Color is everywhere and conveys a message even if we don't realize it. While this message can vary by culture it pays to know what colors
Rossmely León's insight:

Choosing colors and knowing the meaning of each one is very important when you are working in your design. Color is one of the things you see first when you look at things and it can transmit different feelings or ideas. These meanings could vary in cultures, but I think there’s always a basic meaning in every color. So, as a designer, we have to think about what do we want to communicate, and with this, have ideas about the psychology of color.

Flat Design: Trend or Revolution?

Flat Design: Trend or Revolution? | ART&DESIGN - English for Work | Scoop.it
Rossmely León's insight:

Some years ago we used to see a lot of striking designs, specially on the web (and in computer software as such), with gradients, shadows and a lot of detail, and it was the best. Now, in these days, the design has taken some new ways, like it is the "Flat Design"; still very striking, but very simple, with strong focus on color and beautiful typography.

I think this graphic style is interesting. It's the minimalism, a thing that I always liked, and you can get a nice and friendly view in a work. It could be just a trend, and in some years maybe we'll see very detailed designs again, but for now I'm very into this new way in Design.

T-shirt design is becoming one of the most popular outlets for creatives. Whether you're an illustrator, graphic designer or typographer, the thought of having your design on a t-shirt is a pretty cool concept.
Rossmely León's insight:

I am interested about illustration in t-shirts and the art of screen printing. Some people like to be original, use different things and express themselves when is about clothes, I am like that, and you can say a lot with a T-shirt!... Imagination, typography, colors, you could have a lot in one artistic/functional piece and you can show it to the world.  I would love to have a clothing brand with my own designs!.

7 Packaging Design Trends You Should Know for 2014 - The Deep End Design

7 Packaging Design Trends You Should Know for 2014 - The Deep End Design | ART&DESIGN - English for Work | Scoop.it
No matter how much people rely on social media and emails to communicate, the one thing that they’ll never stop needing is packaging. Packaging is just as important as the product itself, and it goes a long way toward convincing customers that they want what’s inside. Most people don’t think about the packaging on the [...]
Rossmely León's insight:

I think the article is very interesting because Packaging, as part of design, it changes through the years for the trends and for the needs of the people. There are a lot of creative ideas to make a functional and also beautiful package for a product like enviromentally friendly material, multi use functions, unconventional /original shapes, or minimalist graphic style, so it can attract the attention of the costumers in the first view.

6 ways to stay inspired as a designer | Inspiration | Creative Bloq

6 ways to stay inspired as a designer | Inspiration | Creative Bloq | ART&DESIGN - English for Work | Scoop.it
We all know what it's like to stare at your computer screen or a blank sketchbook for hours. Your creativity is nowhere to be found, just like that high school sweetheart who so cruelly dumped you right before the prom. So how do you maintain a healthy relationship with our creativity? How do you stay inspired?
Rossmely León's insight:

Sometimes is hard to be creative and develop an idea. It happened to every designer at least once to be staring at the computer screen or a blank sketchbook unable to start something from the imagination. So, in that cases, sometimes you just have to get up of that chair and enjoy other interesting and inspirational things from your point of view. There are a lot of things that you can do like looking for ideas from the internet to wake up the creativity, talk with friends or creative people, go for a walk, listen to music, or think about something that you like that could be the source of inspiration, maybe some character or an artistic movement/trend... And most important, "concentrate in one task at a time", don't overthink your ideas and take a time to daydream in your life!
